Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss.

Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.

Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.

Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.

Love is when mommy sees daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross.

Love is that first feeling you feel before all the bad stuff gets in the way.

When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.

Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.

Don't you wish you could go back to these days!

Funding for schools:

It is not a pretty picture! And it is not looking to improve for at least 3-5 years. People need to get involved. Email you legislators, as parents, as taxpayers, as voters, regarding the importance of public education and funding of it. If DTE can get a 7% increase to cover increasing medical and retirement costs, then the children of this state, and those that serve them, should be entitled to AT LEAST the same 7%. Instead, we are faced with cuts, again, this year, in the middle of the school year. Cuts of somewhere between $50 and $150 per student. Per pupil allowance has not officially changed in 3 years, though inflation has increased about 3% for each of those years. There was more direct money available for public schools in 1995 than there is in 2004. We have to get involved to make change happen, to restructure the way that education is funded in this state.

Children with special needs, and there are a lot of them, are not receiving the proper assistance because of this lack of funding! Please take a stand and support public education!

    <lj:music>Can't Hold Us Down</lj:music>

No disrespect to the Phi Mu ladies, I think Mock Rock was by far the best I have seen in my four years. But Mock Rock was finally fair. For the past four years Phi Sig and AOE have worked just as hard on their routines with less than half of the dancing talent. AOE got creative and chose something different this year. Phi Sig got out there and made a mockery of themselves. Both sororities are always the underdogs. We go in competing for third and fourth, not first and second. Now both of us are hated by Phi Mu and the other.

Claiming that AOE knows the judges is crap. The judges were volunteers. No one knew who they were until they showed up. The Delt Sigs have tried to recruit Lou for a few years and no one complained about them winning. What really gets me is that people were saying how fair the judges would be this year because Jeannie didn't pick them. Now you know how we feel every single year. We have never practiced on the stage before hand. We have never had mixers with the judges. How were all the other years fair to us? They weren't but we didn't cry about it. Ever.

For a brief ten minutes AOE was winning Greek Week. Which is where they should be now. AOE girls- they didn't get what they wanted. You still have first. Get shirts, make posters, celebrate until you drop. Don't let anyone bring you down with childish comments. Because they have already started flying.

There is so much irony about all of this. The girls who go in expecting to win, didn't. And the girls hoping for as high as second and third won first and second. Both of our sororities could write a book on how to be a good loser. We have enough experience. But, as the old saying goes- what goes around, comes around. None of this would have even happened if Phi Mu or the other got first. Ironic.

And painting over a Founder's Day rock. Show some respect.

Now who is out to sabatoge whom?

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I have had tonsillitis for about a week and have spent most of my time sleeping. The antibiotics aren't working and I have gotten significantly worse since taking them. This wouldn't be a problem if I had medical insurance but the surgery alone would cost at least $3000 not including the hospital stay and medical devices that they use. So needless to say I have taken the alternative route. Tylenol and Zyrtec, every 4 hours. I am pretty much numb to everything and I have a weird voice. At least the kids have been nice about it. My favorite school has requested me for seven days in the next two weeks. That is my number one choice for schools to work at. It is only fifth and sixth grades. Everyone at the school is extremely nice. Today I am teaching Kindergarten at my second choice school.

Well, on to life...I have to wait to start grad school. If I get into a district that will pay for it then I will be in heaven. New York is recruiting teachers. I could be the new teacher at PS 119. That would be like working in Detroit. Less than one month until I go to Portland. My mom and I are taking my two great grandmothers to Portland to see each of ther families. My grandparents have started moving. Their house is huge and I am ready to house sit! Other than that, my e-portfolio is almost done but I can't get it to work once it is on a CD. Oh well, that's life!

Anyone know how to make a CD-R work the right way? I spent so many hours on my E-Portfolio that for it not to work is simply ridiculous. I had to re-type aver 40 pages of lesson plans and reflections because Staples would charge me $120 to scan them and put them on a disk. All of the pages are there but the links don't work anymore! Maybe my smart family can help over Easter break.

Happy Birthday to:
Danielle 3-1
Shavonne 3-6
Carolyn 3-7
Carol 3-16

Working like mad these next couple weeks. Last week too. Teachers have been requesting me and I made a killer impression on a principal at Challenger. Things are looking up, I hope. I am hoping to hear from Linden too. The drive sucks but it is a job.

I am very excited for Greek Week. I can't participate but it will be a blast being an alumni. Plus, Andrea and I are celebrating our birthdays that week. I am reviving the U.T. award for that week. BE PREPARED! Wait till you see MY costume!

California was beautiful. A little chilly but I was determined to wear sandals the entire time. Our flight was delayed because when we hit a pothole, yes pothole, the navigation equiptment was thrown off and had to be rebooted. That little adventure took about an hour. At least there was a sign that said "DO NOT LEAVE AIRCRAFT UNATTENDED" I would have thought that would be part of pilot 101.

We went to Disneyland on Friday. There were no lines and it was really nice. Not a whole lot of kids either. Saturday we met a humongus land turtle named Sherman. No one would believe how big he is until they see the pictures. And we visited the Regos. Long time friends and "Tom Cruise's dad" (Long story- I'll elaborate later)

Sunday was a huge storm that caused mudslides south of San Diego. We went to the Wild Animal Park for a few hours in the rain. Monday was the Zoo. I got to feed the elephants so it was fun. Tuesday we went to UCSD's Scripps aquarium and spent time in La Jolla. I bought two pair of cute sandals. Later that night we went to the coast and the water was freezing but we went in anyways.

Overall the vacation was as good as a family vacation could be.

Aries Drinking style:
Impulsive Aries people like to party and sometimes
don't know when to call it a night. Their
competitive streak makes them prone to closing
time shot contests. They're sloppy, fun drunks,
and they get mighty flirty after a couple
tipples. Getting Aries people drunk is a good
way to get what you want out of them, should
other methods fail. Aries can become bellicose
when blotto, but they will assume that whatever
happened should be forgiven (if not forgotten)
by sunrise. They can be counted on to do the
same for you -- so long as you haven't gone and
done anything really horrible to them last
night,

Alcohoroscopes- what do the stars say about your drinking style
brought to you by Quizilla

Can you believe that I actually made it to a Monday meeting? Congratulations to all of the new E-Board! Good luck next year! I am there for you if you ever need anything. I can't believe how much things have changed in the last couple months! It was good seeing everyone again. I will definetly be there Friday...even though it wasn't and isn't exactly what I bargained for.

"Ladies, would you care to join us? We won't bite?"

After the meeting I got to spend time with Andrea and Kristine. And who was the Andrea girl from Oakland? That was incredibly hilarious! I could have never pulled that one off! I never got to hang out with Kristine much but she is one cool chick. I am so glad that I have a good family.

"Ok ladies, we are going to irritate you until you come and join us"

How did we manage to pick up an entire table of weirdo guys? Crazy waitress tries to stand up for them while running away. Somehow we manage to avoid going over there???? [Note to self- buy ring- Note to Andrea- buy ring.] Finally random guys leave and we can enjoy our conversation. I SWEAR that what I said is happening on Sunday! People are crazy out here! Finally we leave after last call.

Drive to Redford to grandparent's house. They took their pillows to Florida! End up sleeping on recliner for about two hours and drive home. My car is still being janky. Almost ran off the road a few times. But finally got home at 6:45. Slept until 11:15 on the couch near the bathroom (just in case).

Got to get to work on the case at hand. My detective skills come in handy again. Been a while since I used them. We need badges or something. Lets scrapbook them! ha ha ha!

Hope everyone liked their valentines. The rest will be given on Friday. See you then! Peace Out!
