09:36 pm - Is this mean? I am not a big fan of a certain person anymore so I was thinking that they deserved a treat. I made chocolate covered strawberries for teacher gifts and there are some left over.
I was contemplating adding exlax to the chocolate. They definetly deserves this, no question about it.
This recipe can be used for multiple occasions; bosses day, dinner with those oh no nice inlaws, or just payback for anyone you particularly don't care for.
Is this mean or deserving?

05:17 pm - Love is... Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss.
Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.
Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.
Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.
Love is when mommy sees daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross.
Love is that first feeling you feel before all the bad stuff gets in the way.
When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.
Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.
Don't you wish you could go back to these days!

03:00 pm - Memo Funding for schools:
It is not a pretty picture! And it is not looking to improve for at least 3-5 years. People need to get involved. Email you legislators, as parents, as taxpayers, as voters, regarding the importance of public education and funding of it. If DTE can get a 7% increase to cover increasing medical and retirement costs, then the children of this state, and those that serve them, should be entitled to AT LEAST the same 7%. Instead, we are faced with cuts, again, this year, in the middle of the school year. Cuts of somewhere between $50 and $150 per student. Per pupil allowance has not officially changed in 3 years, though inflation has increased about 3% for each of those years. There was more direct money available for public schools in 1995 than there is in 2004. We have to get involved to make change happen, to restructure the way that education is funded in this state.
Children with special needs, and there are a lot of them, are not receiving the proper assistance because of this lack of funding! Please take a stand and support public education!

05:51 pm - Psych Majors... Is there some sort of disorder that makes people not know or be aware of social acceptance? They miss the cues that they are being assholes and need to stop. Is there a such thing as social retardation?
Any information would be helpful

07:58 am No disrespect to the Phi Mu ladies, I think Mock Rock was by far the best I have seen in my four years. But Mock Rock was finally fair. For the past four years Phi Sig and AOE have worked just as hard on their routines with less than half of the dancing talent. AOE got creative and chose something different this year. Phi Sig got out there and made a mockery of themselves. Both sororities are always the underdogs. We go in competing for third and fourth, not first and second. Now both of us are hated by Phi Mu and the other.
Claiming that AOE knows the judges is crap. The judges were volunteers. No one knew who they were until they showed up. The Delt Sigs have tried to recruit Lou for a few years and no one complained about them winning. What really gets me is that people were saying how fair the judges would be this year because Jeannie didn't pick them. Now you know how we feel every single year. We have never practiced on the stage before hand. We have never had mixers with the judges. How were all the other years fair to us? They weren't but we didn't cry about it. Ever.
For a brief ten minutes AOE was winning Greek Week. Which is where they should be now. AOE girls- they didn't get what they wanted. You still have first. Get shirts, make posters, celebrate until you drop. Don't let anyone bring you down with childish comments. Because they have already started flying.
There is so much irony about all of this. The girls who go in expecting to win, didn't. And the girls hoping for as high as second and third won first and second. Both of our sororities could write a book on how to be a good loser. We have enough experience. But, as the old saying goes- what goes around, comes around. None of this would have even happened if Phi Mu or the other got first. Ironic.
And painting over a Founder's Day rock. Show some respect.

09:48 am Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I have had tonsillitis for about a week and have spent most of my time sleeping. The antibiotics aren't working and I have gotten significantly worse since taking them. This wouldn't be a problem if I had medical insurance but the surgery alone would cost at least $3000 not including the hospital stay and medical devices that they use. So needless to say I have taken the alternative route. Tylenol and Zyrtec, every 4 hours. I am pretty much numb to everything and I have a weird voice. At least the kids have been nice about it. My favorite school has requested me for seven days in the next two weeks. That is my number one choice for schools to work at. It is only fifth and sixth grades. Everyone at the school is extremely nice. Today I am teaching Kindergarten at my second choice school.
Well, on to life...I have to wait to start grad school. If I get into a district that will pay for it then I will be in heaven. New York is recruiting teachers. I could be the new teacher at PS 119. That would be like working in Detroit. Less than one month until I go to Portland. My mom and I are taking my two great grandmothers to Portland to see each of ther families. My grandparents have started moving. Their house is huge and I am ready to house sit! Other than that, my e-portfolio is almost done but I can't get it to work once it is on a CD. Oh well, that's life! Current Mood: groggy

07:52 pm - Random Update Anyone know how to make a CD-R work the right way? I spent so many hours on my E-Portfolio that for it not to work is simply ridiculous. I had to re-type aver 40 pages of lesson plans and reflections because Staples would charge me $120 to scan them and put them on a disk. All of the pages are there but the links don't work anymore! Maybe my smart family can help over Easter break.

Working like mad these next couple weeks. Last week too. Teachers have been requesting me and I made a killer impression on a principal at Challenger. Things are looking up, I hope. I am hoping to hear from Linden too. The drive sucks but it is a job.
I am very excited for Greek Week. I can't participate but it will be a blast being an alumni. Plus, Andrea and I are celebrating our birthdays that week. I am reviving the U.T. award for that week.
